Shawn Farmer is the Managing Director and Director of Player Development for Basketball with IPZ. Shawn has more than 20 years of experience in training expertise, player management, and leadership.
Before becoming part of the IPZ family, Farmer worked privately with numerous NBA and WNBA players with his unique approach to player development that dramatically improved performance.
In addition, Farmer has trained more than 2,500 young adults nationwide since 2009 and is extremely passionate about making a positive impact on those lives around him. He is also the founder of NC Zoom, a girls’ AAU basketball team that travels around the country to compete.
Prior to training and coaching athletes, Farmer was a player himself. His collegiate career began at Lenoir Community College where he shattered records for most three-pointers made in a single game, as well as becoming the all-time leading scorer in the school’s history—both records remain standing today.
Farmer then transferred to Averett University where continued to play basketball and earned his degree in sports management. Following his tenure at Averett, Farmer went on to play professionally for seven years in the Continental Basketball Association and overseas in Belgium, Holland, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Poland.
